1. How can I check my payout transaction status?

* **Webhook Notifications**: Set up a [webhook URL ](https://coda-payments.gitbook.io/coda-payout-merchant-documentation/bNCsHz5i7637XdvIol0d/api-reference/notification)with us. We will send notifications to your webhook for any status updates regarding your transactions
* **Check Status API**: Utilize our [Check Status API ](https://coda-payments.gitbook.io/coda-payout-merchant-documentation/bNCsHz5i7637XdvIol0d/api-reference/check-status-of-payout)to retrieve the latest status of your transactions. This method provides real-time updates on the current state of each transaction
* **Publisher Portal**: Log into our [Publisher Portal](https://portal.codapayments.com/login) and navigate to the Payout section. Here, you can view the status of all your transactions at a glance.

***

2. What should I do if I encounter a 401 Unauthorized error?

* Ensure the JWT token’s `iat` value is valid and within 5 minutes of generation.

***

3. Does the payout API return a channel order ID? Can I use the transaction ID to check the status?

* The returned ID is the Coda payout ID (similar to Codapay's transaction ID). You can use our status check API to verify the request status.

***

4. Can I use my own payout request ID to check the status?

* Merchant-generated request IDs might overlap with others. Use the Coda transaction number for accurate status queries, as Coda-generated payout IDs ensure uniqueness.

***

5. Is the Balance API's value real-time?

* Yes, upon configuration on the Coda side. Otherwise, updates are made daily

***

6. What is the interval for webhook notifications?

* Webhooks are triggered immediately upon status updates.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.coda.co/payout/codapay-payout-faqs/api-functionality-and-error-handling.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
